It was a great honour accepting this award on December 15, 2022 from my MLA Jon Carson along with Dr. Haidong Liang at the Westend Seniors Activity Center (WESAC) in front of their board, members and guests, my wife Kendall, our son, Ross Murray, and Kevin Brown my executive coach. I’d like to thank Dr. Haidong Liang for nominating me for this award.
This medal, created by the Province of Alberta, marks the 70th anniversary of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada. It is granted in recognition of the work we are doing at Launch57 in delivering software solutions that focus on “Improving the Lives of Others” in our communities through the provision of Fundraising (Bid Beacon, Raffle Rocket), Community Engagement (CommuniBee) and Gamified Learning software (Reach, LIPHA). Of note, we have made our CommuniBee mobile application available at no cost to all community leagues in Edmonton, Alberta since 2018. To date we have over 50% signed up. We are very proud to be able to provide solutions at no-cost, especially in the City where we live and work.
I am proud to announce that Launch57 and Dr. Haidong Liang at WESAC are collaborating to significantly improve our CommuniBee app with a major product update to be released in the spring of 2023. We are adding features to support inclusivity, accessibility, multilingual, fraud & safety content, more e-commerce capabilities to support programs & events, an online food program, fundraising and many more features. It’s all about improving the lives of those most vulnerable in our communities.
I will proudly wear this medal over my heart, and it will always remind me of our late Queen and the purpose of our organization, Launch57.
Sincerely,
Graham Murray
